The one true Church is composed of all believers in the Lord Jesus...
I want you to belong to the one true Church: to the Church outside of which there is no salvation. I do not ask where you go on a Sunday; I only ask, "Do you belong to the one true Church?" Where is this one true Church? What is this one true Church like? What are the marks by which this one true Church may be known? You may well ask such questions. Give me your attention, and I will provide you with some answers.

They would find; that they are admonished by Christ Himself to "Search the Scriptures" (John 5:39); that people are liable to make mistakes if they do not know the Scriptures (Matt. 22:29); that those are blessed who read the Scriptures (The Apocalypse 1:3); and that "All Scripture inspired of God is profitable to teach" (2 Tim. 3:16).

Friend, I am writing to you today because time is short. The day of grace is fast slipping away. The great day of judgment is drawing nearer every hour. The thread of life is slowly but surely winding up. The sands of time for each of us will soon run down to rise no more. You and I are traveling far faster than we think through time towards eternity. Only a few more fleeting days and every soul of us will have gone forever to his own place of heaven or hell. Therefore I meet you in faithfulness and solemnness today and ask you only one question: Are you a forgiven soul?

The Bible records many prayers, but in this passage we have the only account of a prayer from Hell!
"And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame" (Luke 16:24).

Have you been made righteous?
If I had but one sermon to preach and the whole world for an audience, this is the message I would bring. I must not allow a false modesty to keep me from saying that the truths of this message are most vital to every man.

One day as I was driving home from Detroit, I saw a fine young man standing by the side of the highway with his arm extended in the special sign now universally recognized as a request for a ride. As I had a long trip of several hundred miles before me, I welcomed the opportunity of breaking the monotony by having someone to talk to. I soon discovered that my passenger was a FrenchCanadian, and naturally, I began to speak in his mother tongue, which he was surprised and delighted to hear.

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God
God is just, and a just God must punish sin. The great question is, "How can God be just, and yet the Justifier of the ungodly?" False religions endeavour to answer this question, but they completely fail. The poor heathen thinks he has found the answer in his own terrible sacrifices. He thinks he may give "his first-born for his transgression, the fruit of his body for the sin of his soul." The deluded Papist thinks he has found an answer to the question in his daily mass...
